JULIA is our Financial Controller and Head of Reception. She has been deeply committed to the hotel’s fortune  for many years now. Being most amiable and charming, she also brings the accuracy, patience and assertiveness she needs for her work. Her mother is German, her father Sicilian. She speaks Italian, German, English and French.

CLAUDIA joined our reception team in 2018. Born in Taormina, from a German mother and a Sicilian father, she speaks Italian, English, German and French. With a solid ten year experience in 5 star hotels, she carries out her work with passion, seriousness and kindness and always holds her composure, even in demanding situations.

SIMONA started working with us as one of our Receptionist Secretaries with the season 2022. Before joining us, she gained excellent experience in prestigious 5 star hotels. Thanks to her reliable, open and cordial character, combined with a wonderful sense of humour, she perfectly fits into our team. She speaks Italian, English and French and is highly passionate about her profession.

ELENA joined our team in April 2022. Born in Taormina, she grew up in her parents’ hotel business and later managed it for more than 6 years. In the meantime, mother of lovely twins, she decided to continue her professional career at Villa Schuler. In addition to Italian, she speaks fluent English and German. Her professionalism and her gentle, welcoming manner have inspired the entire team from the very beginning.

MARIANGELA joined our reception team in July 2022. With many years of experience as a restaurant manager and assistant event manager in a well-known 5-star hotel in Taormina, she was looking for new professional challenges and found them at Villa Schuler. Mariangela enriches our team with her great friendliness, reliability and balance as well as with her excellent knowledge of English and Spanish.

GIADA has started learning the profession of receptionist with us since the beginning of the season 2024. Till now she has worked at the reception of the Ancient Theatre in Taormina and in a travel agency. Her sunny mood, her hearty smile, her quick wit and her friendliness, along with a great talent for languages, are the best prerequisites for the job. Giada speaks fluently English and French, good Spanish and is currently improving her German.

ROSARIA works at Hotel Villa Schuler since 2006. Cooking has always been her passion, so with the season 2017 she switched from the housekeeping crew to the breakfast kitchen crew. She has been Head of the department since the 2023 season. Born in Sicily she is blessed with a most cheerful character. While working hard she never loses her wonderful camaraderie nor her contagious smile.

IRENE joined our kitchen team as apprentice in April 2024. She brings joy to work, the necessary inner calm for fast-paced kitchen operations, and has an open heart to learn new things. Though our chef Rosaria no longer needs to teach her how to make the best espresso or cappuccino. She does that with her eyes closed, having previously worked for more than three years in a popular coffee bar and ice cream parlor in Taormina’s Trappitello district.

ROSITA has been serving our à la carte breakfast since 2014. She has gained valuable experiences in the hospitality industry before joining us. Rosita is Taorminesian to the core with a great passion for theatre and literature. She speaks Italian and English and with her outstanding charme, kindness and attention she will brighten up your day from the very beginning.

LUCA joined us in the 2022 season. He graduated from the Sate hotel school „IPSSEOA Giovanni Falcone” and is continuing his training at Villa Schuler in the breakfast and service team. He is gentle, polite and attentive, and immediately won the hearts of his colleagues. Born in Taormina, his mother tongue is Italian. He owes his good English, among others, to his love for English-language music. In his basketball team, he plays as a “small forward”, whose special qualities include versatility and speed.

EVEGNIYA has been a member of our breakfast service team since the 2024 season. Serene, friendly and professional, she is another strong pillar of our à la carte service. She grew up in the gastronomy business in her parents’ restaurant in Bulgaria, graduated as a tourism manager and worked in various restaurants and hotels in Bulgaria as a food & beverage and restaurant manager. In Sicily since 2018, she speaks English and Italian very well in addition to her mother tongue.

MARCO is responsible for the bar service. He has his eyes everywhere, is quick, warm-hearted and competent. Marco speaks Italian, English and German (which he learnt from his German grandma) and is one of the most passionate cocktail mixers around. Try one of his ‘Apple Passion’ or ask for your personal ‘Surprise Cocktail’! And as a regular, you can be sure that he will remember your favourite drink for years to come.

GABRIEL is our new valet boy apprentice since March 2024. Despite his young age, he already has some solid experience behind him, having also worked in a 5-star hotel in his hometown of Taormina. In addition to his native Italian, he speaks very good English and a little Brazilian. His balanced, yet open and approachable manner impressed us and the entire team from the beginning. In his free-time, he devotes himself to the sport of his choice, Brazilian Ju Jitsu.

LUIGI has been our night porter since 2001. With his friendly, thoughtful character and his good knowledge of Italian, German and English, he is the one who takes care of the service during the night, who is awake and reachable throughout the night and always keeps the calm. He will also serve an early breakfast for you, no matter how early you have to depart or would like to go on an excursion.

MARIA is our Head of Housekeeping and, together with her team, ensures the cleanliness and tidiness of the guest rooms. She has been working at the Hotel Villa Schuler since 1990, making her our longest-serving employee, highly valued and well liked. With her patience and her gentle, harmonising character she puts her team into a positive mood, even during the most busy moments.

MARIA has been a member of the housekeeping team since 2014, bringing with her more than a decade of experience in prestigious hotels in Taormina. With her vivid, hardworking and cheerful nature, she immediately wins hearts and has become a strong pillar of the team. In her spare time she sings in a choir and on special occasions we are lucky enough to enjoy her beautiful voice.

STEFANIA joined our team with the beginning of the season 2016. With her long-time experience in luxury hotels and her discrete, reliable and friendly character she matches perfectly our housekeeping crew. Together with her collegues, she also takes care of the laundry service which is all done in the hotel, a highly demanding task that requires absolute care and attention.

CLAUDIA has strengthened our housekeeping team since the 2023 season. She not only has many years of experience in housekeeping, but has also enchanted us all with her kind and low-key nature and her great willingness to work. Last but not least, she inspires us from time to time with her great baking skills, which she gifts us on special occasions.

SARO is our Maintenance & IT Technician since 2006. He knows every detail inside the Hi-Tec inner life of Hotel Villa Schuler and takes care of all necessary maintenance. His rule is “80/20” believing that 80% of hotel maintenance should be preventive. He also parks client’s cars and helps if computer problems should occur.

FRANCESCA has been our Gardener since the 2022 season. succeeding our legendary gardener Pippo, who retired, yet not without initiating Francesca into the secrets of this special garden, which he cared for with passion for many years. Francesca is a daughter of the territory and brings with her a wealth of experience, from working in her father’s orchards to tending her own garden. She has a particular love for succulents and medicinal herbs. She also owns a keen sense for the aesthetic design of a garden.
