Palazzo Corvaja – Taormina
I Colori dello Stupor – The Colours of Wonder, dedicated to the painters of the Grand Tour and inaugurated on 7 December 2024 and curated to celebrate the timeless beauty of Taormina through the eyes of the artists of the Grand Tour, the exhibition presents original works by masters such as Otto Geleng, famous for his views of Sicily, and other painters who have immortalized landscapes, lights and atmospheres that have made the city one of the most popular and most portrayed destinations in Europe. All works are on loan from private collectors in Taormina.

Permanent Museum
Taormina Castle – Madonna della Rocca, Taormina
The remains of this medieval castle surround a large area on the top of Monte Tauro, which watches over the town of Taormina. The imposing, surprisingly well-preserved walls give a vivid impression of the old castle. The views from up here are breathtaking, 360 degrees over the sea, as far as Mount Etna, the coastlines across to mainland Italy or in direction Catania, and the mountainous hinterland.

Cavalleria Rusticana, a concertante performance of the Opera by Pietro Mascagni as part of the Sicilia Classic Festival. Cavalleria rusticana was the first opera composed by Mascagni and is certainly the best known. A love drama about betrayal and jealousy set in 19th century Sicily.

The program of events at the wonderful Teatro Antico of Taormina generally starts mid of June with the Taobuk Festival followed up by the Taormina Film Fest, and continued by concerts, opera and ballet performances of national and international importance. There are currently some dates for concerts at the Ancient Theatre. Further dates will be added soon.

Taobuk 2025 – XV edition of the international book Festival, this year under the motto: Confine – Borders. A borderline, physical or mental, geographic or inner, real or imaginary that digs the furrow of contiguity. Separated and together joined by a point, two different worlds look at each other, touch each other. They meet, clash and merge into a common core. Within this space of exploration are the coordinates of the 15th edition of Taobuk, the international book festival created and directed by Antonella Ferrara.
The American novelist and short-story writer Peter Cameron, the American horror, mystery, adventure, crime author Joe R. Lansdale and the Italian novelist and film director Susanna Tamaro (Follow your Heart) are among the guests who will receive the Taobuk Award for Literary Excellence on Saturday, June 21 at the Teatro antico in Taormina during the gala evening at the Antique Theatre.

Alessandra Amoroso the Italian singer, successful since 2009 in concert. Most of the artist’s publications, purely pop sounds emerge, although influences from African-American music are also present in her style, characterized by a ‘sandy’ timbre, also referred to as a ‘black’ voice. She has stated her main musical influences are Anastacia, Aretha Franklin and Mina.

Placido Domingo in concert. Born 1941 the Spanish opera singer recorded more that a hundred complete operas and performed in the most important opera houses worldwide. The event will see Domingo joined by other internationally renowned artists. Performing alongside him on stage will be soprano Maria Josè Siri and conductor Jordi Bernacer, with the extraordinary participation of pianist Leonora Armellini and soprano Giuliana Di Stefano. The evening will be presented by conductor Salvo La Rosa.

Jim Kerr has a special connection to Taormina. He owns a hotel here and keeps coming back to the town he fell in love with many years ago.

Loredana Bertè the Italian pop and rock singer in concert, who looks back on 50 years of her career. She newly participated in the Sanremo Festival 2024 with the song “Pazza”, reaching seventh place in the final ranking and winning the ‘Mia Martini’ Critics’ Prize. The song is included in the collection Ribelle, released on 9 February 2024 to celebrate her 50-year recording career. Since 15 November, for the third consecutive season, she has been a coach in the program The Voice Kids aired on Rai 1 and since 21 February 2025, she has been a coach in the program The Voice Senior.

Nek – Hits Live 2025. Nek is the pseudonym of Filippo Neviani, singer-songwriter and musician from the region Emiglia Romana. In 1989 he started as singer and bassist of the rockband White Lady, in which he composed his first songs. That group was initially born as a Police cover band. In an interview in 1998, Nek said that Sting had an important influence on his way of making music, explaining that “since I was a child I tried to imitate him”. Nek has sold more than 10 million records worldwide during his career.

Camilleri 100 – on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Andrea Camilleri, one of the most profound intellectuals, beloved and well-known writers in Italy and beyond, will be celebrated with two evenings at the Ancient Theater of Taormina. On the same days, an extensive retrospective of the television series based on Andrea Camilleri’s literary works, “Il commissario Montalbano” and “Il giovane Montalbano”, will also be presented in various locations of Taormina. An event organized by the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation in memory of the author born in Porto Empedocle (Sicily) on September 6, 1925 and died on July 17, 2019.
